Request an AppointmentGlasses Made for Growing Kids
We offer specially made glasses for babies and toddlers ages 0 to 3 and children’s glasses for ages 4 to 9 and up. Kids’ frames need to be durable, flexible, comfortable, and fun to wear, and our licensed opticians fit each pair carefully so it stays in place during school, play, and sports. We recommend impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses for children, which are lightweight and include built-in UV protection. Learn more on our lens options page.
Essilor Stellest Lenses for Myopia Control
Essilor Stellest lenses are Essilor’s breakthrough innovation to slow myopia progression in children. They are the first and only FDA market-authorized spectacle lens to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children. Stellest lenses correct your child’s vision while helping to slow how quickly their prescription worsens over time.
Warning Signs of Vision Problems in Children
Because eye problems may appear at a young age, TLC Eyewear has optometrists who provide pediatric eye exams for children, even infants. About one in four children develop some kind of vision problem, according to the American Public Health Association, so be on the lookout for these warning signs:
- Frequent rubbing of eyes
- Excessive tearing
- Closing one eye to read
- Sitting too close to the television
- Complaining of headaches or tired eyes
- Avoiding reading or losing their place on the page
Many children don’t realize their vision is blurry. Conditions such as farsightedness and astigmatism can affect reading and learning, and screen-heavy schoolwork can lead to digital eye strain.
Sports Goggles and Kids’ Sunglasses
Active kids need eye protection. We carry RecSpecs sports goggles and protective eyewear for soccer, baseball, basketball, and more, plus kids’ sunglasses with UV protection. Explore our safety, sports, and sunglasses collection.
Contacts for Teens
Many responsible teens enjoy the freedom of daily disposable contact lenses, especially for sports. Walk in or book an appointment to browse our collection of prescription eyeglasses and protective eyewear for children, or to meet with a pediatric eye doctor. We accept most vision insurance plans.
Pediatric and Kids Eye Exams
The Canton office offers eye exams for children ages 5 and older. For infant and toddler exams, contact our Brockton or East Bridgewater locations. When school eye screenings are not enough, our optometrists can help diagnose vision problems at an early age with a complete eye exam.
