TLC Eyewear FAQs
Where are TLC Eyewear’s offices located?
TLC Eyewear has three Massachusetts locations: 95 Washington St #466 in Canton, 179 Quincy St #3 in Brockton, and 1 Donalds Way Suite 100 in East Bridgewater. Each office offers prescription eyewear and personalized fittings from licensed opticians, and all three have convenient parking.
What are your office hours?
Our Canton office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our Brockton and East Bridgewater offices are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and after-hours appointments are available by request at all locations.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We welcome new patients at all three locations. If you need an eye exam quickly, our Canton office typically offers the fastest new patient scheduling, often within one week. You can request an appointment online or call the office nearest you.
Do you offer eye exams?
Yes. Optometrists working with TLC Eyewear provide routine eye exams, contact lens fittings and evaluations, glaucoma screenings, diabetic eye exams, and eye exams for driver’s license requirements. We’ll help you find the right doctor and location for your needs when you call.
How often should I have an eye exam?
Most adults and children benefit from an eye exam about once a year. You should schedule sooner if you notice changes in your vision, more frequent headaches, eye strain, or difficulty seeing at night. People with diabetes, glaucoma risk factors, or a strong prescription may need more frequent monitoring.
Do you provide eye exams for children?
Yes. Our Canton office offers eye exams for children ages 5 and older. For infant and toddler eye exams, contact our Brockton or East Bridgewater locations. Learn more on our children’s eyeglasses and pediatric vision care page.
Which vision insurance plans do you accept?
We accept most vision insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Davis Vision, EyeMed, NVA, Spectera, Superior Vision, United Healthcare, VSP (Gap Provider), and more. Visit our vision insurance page for the full list, or call us to confirm your coverage.
Can I use my FSA or HSA for glasses and contacts?
Yes. Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts can generally be used for prescription eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, and eye exams. Our team can provide itemized receipts to help you submit your claim.
Can you fill a prescription from another eye doctor?
Absolutely. Bring in a current, valid prescription from any optometrist or ophthalmologist, and our licensed opticians will take the precise measurements needed to make your prescription glasses correctly.
Can you put new lenses in my existing frames?
Yes. If you love your current frames, we can fit them with new prescription or non-prescription lenses. In most cases you keep your glasses until the new lenses arrive, then leave them with us for about an hour. Learn more about replacement lenses for existing frames.
What is the difference between progressive lenses and bifocals?
Bifocals have two distinct viewing zones separated by a visible line. Progressive lenses offer a smooth, line-free transition between distance, intermediate, and near vision. Our opticians can help you choose between them on our lens options page or in person.
Why do glasses ordered online sometimes cause headaches or blurry vision?
Online orders often rely on self-measurements and generic lens recommendations. Small errors in pupillary distance, optical center height, or frame fit can cause headaches, eye strain, and distorted vision, especially with progressive lenses or strong prescriptions. Our licensed opticians measure and adjust every pair in person.
Do you offer glasses for strong or complex prescriptions?
Yes. Complex prescriptions are one of our specialties. We recommend frame shapes and high-index lens materials that keep lenses thinner and lighter, and we take careful measurements so your glasses deliver the clearest possible vision.
Do you sell prescription sunglasses and sports glasses?
Yes. We carry prescription polarized sunglasses, sports goggles, and specialty eyewear from brands such as Maui Jim, Ray-Ban, and RecSpecs. Visit our safety, sports and sunglasses page to learn more.
Do you offer prescription safety glasses for work?
Yes. We provide prescription safety glasses and PPE eyewear for individuals, and we offer Corporate Safety Eyewear programs for businesses and employees in the Canton, Brockton, and East Bridgewater region.
Which designer frame brands do you carry?
We carry a wide selection of designer and affordable frames, including Gucci, Prada, Ray-Ban, Silhouette, Kate Spade, Maui Jim, Polo, Nano, and many more. Brand availability varies by location, so check our designer eyewear brands page before you visit.
Can you help with contact lenses for keratoconus?
Yes. TLC Eyewear works with independent doctors who fit gas permeable contact lenses for patients with keratoconus. These lenses create a smooth refracting surface over an irregular cornea to improve vision. Learn more on our keratoconus page.
Do you offer a satisfaction guarantee?
Yes. TLC Eyewear backs our competitively priced eyewear with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If something isn’t right with your glasses, we’ll work with you to make it right.
